To ensure the submission of accurate “RACE PACE” 10K times every team member is strongly encouraged to participate in a 10K race between 8/26/11 and 7/1/12 to establish an official “RACE PACE”.  All team member 10K times must be updated on the team roster no later than 7/19/12.

                                     REWARD FOR ACCURATE 10K TIMES

Submission of accurate “RACE PACE” 10K times is essential to the seeding process and reducing congestion on the course.  As an incentive for reporting accurate times, ALL HOOD TO COAST TEAMS THAT FINISH WITHIN 30 MINUTES, 0 SECONDS OF THEIR “ANTICIPATED FINISH TIME” (based on submitted 10K times) WILL BE GUARANTEED ENTRY INTO THE 2013 RACE!  (30 and 60 minute penalties will add to overall time). If the race’s team field is not filled from this pool, then the remainder of the field will be drawn from a SECOND LOTTERY, containing new teams and 2012 teams which did not finish within 30 (+/-) minutes of their “Anticipated Finish Time”.

RACE OFFICIALS WILL BE MONITORING TEAMS ON THE LAST LEGS OF THE COURSE. Those who attempt to cheat this policy will be disqualified!
